Salt Joins the Azure Marketplace and is Co-sell Ready!

If you check out the Azure Marketplace today, you’ll see something new there — Salt! We are delighted that our award-winning Salt Security API Protection Platform has been added to the site and that we as a company have achieved Azure IP Co-sell Ready status. As an Azure Marketplace solution, Salt Security has further certified its ability to operate on Microsoft Azure.

At Salt, we make product investment choices based on the value we can provide to customers. By joining the Azure Marketplace, Salt can offer Azure customers the most robust and proven API security platform while simultaneously delivering a cohesive solution that works seamlessly within their chosen cloud environment.

How this move benefits customers

By strengthening our alliance with Microsoft, Salt makes it easier for Azure customers to adopt the industry-leading Salt Security API Protection Platform. We can ensure the most optimal customer experience by giving organizations more flexibility and choice and increasing platform deployment efficiencies.

In addition, with greater access to the resources and experts within the Azure ecosystem, Salt improves our own efficiencies and reduces time to solution for customers. By becoming co-sell ready with Azure, we benefit customers while achieving new growth for Salt Security — a win-win!

Jake Zborowski, general manager, Microsoft Azure Platform at Microsoft Corp. said,

“We’re pleased to welcome Salt Security to the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, which gives our partners great exposure to cloud customers around the globe. Azure Marketplace offers world-class quality experiences from global trusted partners with solutions tested to work seamlessly with Azure.”

Today’s news follows the recent acceptance of Salt Security into the AWS ISV Accelerate Program. Joining both of these programs supports our ongoing strategy to offer customers comprehensive solutions easily integrated into their existing cloud infrastructures. We have a strong and demonstrated commitment to work with the services and solutions our customers already have in place.

How Salt integrates with Microsoft Azure

Our integration with Microsoft Azure enables us to mirror a copy of our customers’ API traffic to the Salt API Protection Platform from Azure virtual networks (VNets) and the Azure WAF. With the industry’s only patented AI-based, cloud-scale big data platform, Salt enables our customers to discover all their APIs and the sensitive data they expose, identify and block malicious actors, and apply shift-left practices to identify security gaps in pre-production.

The Salt API security platform correlates attributes and activities across millions of APIs and users over time, including aspects such as consistency of parameter input, frequency of requests, volume of response, and devices or addresses typically used. By baselining and continuously analyzing that API traffic — over days, weeks, and months — Salt provides rich context that informs all aspects of our API protection. For runtime protection, for example, the Salt platform can send enforcement commands to the Azure WAF and Azure API Management to block an attacker, stopping the malicious activity during the reconnaissance phase of an attacker’s efforts.

API attacks keep rising. According to the Q3 State of API Security Report, malicious API attack traffic grew 117% over the past year. At the same time, organizations have become ever more reliant on APIs to support their digital business initiatives, making API protection critical to safeguard these new services.
