Salt Security Wins Best Small Workplaces Award

Renee Hollinger
Aug 9, 2022

Having just joined Salt as Chief People Officer, I am thrilled to share that Salt Security has been named in the Best Small Workplaces™ 2022 list by Fortune and Great Place to Work®!

Being named to the Best Small Workplaces list, in a sea of well-funded startups, confirms what I learned as I was getting to know the Salt team — Salt stands out as one of the best companies to work for in the country. To earn this prestigious standing, winners must demonstrate that they create a great employee experience — regardless of race, gender, age, or any aspect of the employee’s being or role.

Throughout my discussions with Salt, I was immediately drawn to the company’s strong commitment to its employees. The leadership team makes it clear — in its words and actions — that it’s the people who make Salt. They truly place people first, with flexible programs that support employee well being and a workplace environment built on trust and integrity. I couldn’t be prouder to have joined a company that clearly lives these values and has been recognized for doing so.

As stated by Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work:

“It’s not the size of an organization that makes it great, but how the organization treats its people. These small workplaces have proven that the inspiring cultures they’ve created go head-to-head with those of any large corporation. Leaders at these companies put their people first, and in return, achieve stronger business results than the average workplace.”

Salt Security now has more than 200 employees, having doubled in the past year! I am excited to join the company at such a pivotal time and look forward to ensuring the highest quality employee investment and care as we continue our growth trajectory.

It’s not enough in this day and age to merely deliver the best technology. Companies must build a strong culture that supports employees and focuses on equity, diversity and inclusion for long-term business success.

Salt does so in a number of ways. Salt Security offers work-at-home flexibility, an unlimited vacation policy, and competitive benefits and compensation. Salt also celebrates and marks events that support our employees and reflect our own company values, such as providing Juneteenth as a holiday for reflection and social justice work, advocating for LGBTQ rights during Pride month, and giving employees time off on National Working Parents day.
