The recognition spans the two defining security challenges of 2026: the rapid, ungoverned proliferation of AI agents and the expanding API attack surface they operate across. Salt Security's State of Agentic AI and API Security 2H 2026 report, released this month and based on a survey of more than 380 security and technology professionals, found that nearly half of enterprises have confirmed or suspected that an AI agent took an unauthorized action in the past year, and fewer than one in five have the ability to automatically stop a misbehaving agent. The awards reflect Salt's work to close the gap between agent deployment and agent governance at production scale.
